The car exam in English
- In Mijn CBR, book the English car theory exam.
- It costs €57.00 in 2026 and takes 30 minutes, the same as the Dutch exam.
- Need more time? There is an English exam with extra time too.
- You can take it at every CBR exam centre.
Dutch words that stay in Dutch
Some terms are set in Dutch law and are not translated. You see and hear them in Dutch, even in the English exam:

RijGo’s English questions use the same Dutch terms, so you recognise them in the exam.
An exam with an interpreter
Want to take the car exam in a language other than Dutch or English, or the motorcycle exam in a language other than Dutch? Then you book a theory exam with an interpreter.
- You may not bring your own interpreter. You arrange one through an interpreting service the CBR has approved.
- Book the interpreter at least 2 weeks before your exam. Without an interpreter, the exam cannot go ahead.
- The exam costs €118.50 at the CBR. You pay the interpreter yourself.
- Need a sign language interpreter? Book an individually supervised exam with a registered sign language interpreter.
Practising in English
Everything in RijGo is available in English: the questions, the explanations and the mock exams. You can switch language whenever you like.
